Community Events Support

Community Events Support Program

Through a Community Events Support Policy adopted in September by the Town Council,  non-profit organizations, community groups and service clubs may apply to receive support for events held in 2025.

Support is limited to available resources and budget, and applications are evaluated against eligibility criteria set forth in the adopted policy

Eligibility requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Events must align with Town values and not compete with Town-hosted events.
  • Events must be open to the entire Danville community and not adversely affect Town resources.
  • Events cannot provide significant commercial benefit or be solely for fundraising purposes.
  • Events can be hosted by a government agency serving Danville residents, but cannot be held on behalf of or in support of any political candidate or platform.
  • Private or member-only events, events held by organizations not based in Danville, or events held by individuals are not eligible for support.

Community event support requests made through the application process will be considered by staff for community benefit, resources available, Town resources requested, and other factors outline in the policy. Event support applications requesting minimal assistance such as promotional assistance, in-kind support or small sponsorships will be reviewed by Town staff for approval. Event support applications requesting significant support that may impact Town budget or operations will be reviewed by staff and then provided to the Town Council in February for approval.

Applicants are required to review the entire Community Events Support Policy prior to submitting their request.

Applications are open through December 8, and the short application is available online.
