The Administrative Services Department encompasses various functions that support internal and external Town operations ranging from human resources and finance to economic development and information technology. Divisions & Programs
The IT Division provides access to and support of technology resources, for both information and communication within the Town.
The Risk Management Program works to anticipate and control risk through loss prevention strategies and established risk management principles. This is conducted through the Municipal Pooling Authority, a multi-agency pooled insurance program for general liability, vehicle damage and workers' compensation.

Administrative Services Department staff are also responsible for:
- Community Outreach: Promotes government transparency, communication and civic engagement through print, digital communications (website, social media), media relations and in-person efforts.
- Internal Services: This program includes services required to support all areas of Town service delivery, including equipment, supplies, telephone service and photocopying equipment at all Town facilities.
- Library: The Department manages the Town’s relationship and contract with the Contra Costa County Library. With over 380,000 items circulated annually, and over 5 million visitors since its opening in 1996, the Danville Library is the most visited library in the county. It serves as a community resource for information, literature, music, video, Internet access, reference material and enrichment. Operated by the Contra Costa County Library, the building and its infrastructure (buildings, restrooms, furnishings, computers, telephone network) are managed by the Town of Danville.
