Deadline Extended for Nominating Papers
Incumbent Lisa Blackwell opts not to run for re-election
Seven candidates have filed nominating papers to run for three available seats on the Danville Town Council in the November 3, 2020 election. Two of the three incumbents have filed to run, while incumbent Councilmember Lisa Blackwell has chosen not to run. Blackwell’s decision triggers an automatic extension of the filing deadline to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
Currently, the candidates who have filed their papers are (in order they were filed):

To be eligible for a seat on the Danville Town Council, a candidate must live within Danville Town limits and be a Danville registered voter. There is no filing fee. However, if candidates choose to prepare a Candidate’s Statement of Qualifications, there is a $660 fee to cover the cost of printing in the voter guide. Candidates must file nomination papers containing signatures of Danville registered voters, as well as a number of required election forms.
