[ARCHIVED] California, Places & People: Danville Exhibition Showcases California Through Watercolor

California Exhibition

The California Watercolor Association presents exhibition opening April 20.

The Town of Danville announces the opening of California, Places & People, an exhibition depicting California, places and people from the California Watercolor Association (CWA). The opening reception is Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and is free and open to the public.

The Village Theatre Art Gallery exhibition runs through June 21. California has many beautiful and meaningful places to inspire art. Thirty seven artists from CWA have selected paintings of favorite places they have visited in California or people they have seen here to include in California, Places & People. The show also includes abstract watercolor works inspired by a person or place in California. This exhibition supports CWA’s mission to create, foster, and sustain artistic growth and interest in watermedia.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Town staff will host Young @ Art: Wild About Watercolor April 26 for ages 6-10. Kids can see the new exhibition and be inspired to create their own watercolor masterpieces using fun techniques. Pre-registration is available at www.danville.ca.gov/recguide.

The Village Theatre Art Gallery is at 233 Front St., Danville. For more information, including hours and artists, visit www.danville.ca.gov/arts.
