[ARCHIVED] Town of Danville to Host Art in the Park on Saturday, May 20

Art in the Park 2023 300x350

Community invited to the Town Green for family art fun.

The Town of Danville is hosting a day of hands-on art projects for the whole family. Art in the Park will take place on Saturday, May 20, from 1-3 p.m. on the Town Green located in front of The Danville Library and Community Center at 400 and 420 Front Street. This event is open to children and families of all ages, and pre-registration is strongly encouraged.

With an assortment of art projects and supplies on hand, community members can expect to get messy while exploring different methods of creativity. Participants can also take part in a large community art project that will be on display in the Danville Community Center. Town Staff and volunteers will be on hand to guide and assist with all art projects. There will also be art projects available to take home.

Participating in the arts can have a wonderful impact on developmental growth for children and allow adults a way to destress and expand their skillsets. Learning artistic skills strengthens problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, builds fine motor skills, and promotes creativity. Participants can expect a fun and creative afternoon.

Registration is available online at www.danville.ca.gov/recguide. For more information or to sign up for volunteering at the event, contact Visual Arts Coordinator Marija Nelson Bleier at 925-314-3460 or mnelsonbleier@danville.ca.gov.
