[ARCHIVED] The Town of Danville presents new art exhibit "Modern Landscape"

The Village Theatre Art Gallery is pleased to host an exhibit of 6 fine art painters who reside in the US.  These artists have chosen a contemporary take on the traditional art of landscape painting. These paintings will allow art-goers to experience vistas through the eyes of a modern artist. Gallery visitors will be transported to scenes unreal and dreamlike in these bold and colorful works of art. Exhibiting artists include John Karl Claes, Ellen Levine Dodd, Karen Olsen-Dunn Brian Rutenberg, James Shay, and Liana Steinmetz

About the Curator: Ellen Levine Dodd grew up in a small New England beach town near Boston, Massachusetts. She has been doing artwork all her life. Ellen developed and launched Bradford Gallery located in San Anselmo California, as a gallery that specialized in representing and showing landscape and plein-air artists, where she worked as gallery director and curator. As an independent curator, she curated Color Play 1 and Color Play 2 at Danville’s Village Theatre Art Gallery. Currently, Ellen works full-time as a professional painter, photographer, and printer in her studio in downtown Novato, California.

Exhibit dates are August 27-October 8, 2022, with an artists’ opening reception on Saturday, August 27 from 11:00 a.m.-1 p.m. Complimentary brunch refreshments will be served and as always, there is no admission cost to attend, and donations are always appreciated.  Open to the public.
