Danville's Village Theatre Art Gallery to host a free screening of the film
Frida
in conjunction with the gallery's current art exhibit, Women Who Dare!
The Town of Danville's Village Theatre Art Gallery is pleased to offer a free screening of the 2002 movie Frida (rated R), starring Salma Hayek, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23 at the Village Theatre, 233 Front St. in Danville.
The film is described as a biopic of the bold and controversial life of artist Frida Kahlo. Set in Mexico City, this visually evocative film traces Frida's life and relationships. Her forward-thinking artistic, political, and sexual attitudes are explored as we witness a hard-drinking, passionate woman of the early 1900s, which earned an Oscar nomination for Salma Hayek. The film has been given an "R" rating.
Tickets are free but should be reserved by visiting www.danville.ca.gov/vtshows.
Women Who Dare! is on view at The Village Theatre Art Gallery, 233 Front St. in Danville, until May 20, 2022.
