Vehicle Pursuit Ends in Crash

Suspect and pedestrian injured in collision

Danville Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred on San Ramon Valley Boulevard following a police pursuit. The incident began on I-680 when the California Highway Patrol initiated a pursuit of a speeding vehicle. The driver, identified as Tramayne Baker, 42, Oakland, fled and exited the freeway at Sycamore Valley Road. CHP terminated the pursuit and the driver last seen southbound on Camino Ramon.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. a Danville Police officer located the vehicle, described as 1992 purple Lexus LS400 driving north on San Ramon Valley Boulevard. A pursuit was initiated and the vehicle sped off at a high rate of speed. Danville Officers terminated the pursuit when the suspect drove into the opposite lanes of traffic at Town and Country Drive.  The driver then lost control of the car, struck another vehicle and struck a tree.   A pedestrian near the tree was struck by debris and suffered minor injuries.  The pedestrian was treated at the scene and released.

The suspect suffered injuries and was unconscious at the scene. He was transported to John Muir Medical Center for treatment.

Baker has been arrested for felony evading.
