[ARCHIVED] Kiwanis Annual July 4 Parade Goes Virtual

Kiwanis July 4 Parade Goes Virtual
Community invited to decorate homes and streets for July 4

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the necessary prohibitions on large gatherings intended to prevent transmission of the virus, the popular annual Kiwanis July 4 Parade will be going virtual this year.

For over 60 years, the Kiwanis Club of the San Ramon Valley has put on an outstanding event attended by crowds of 40,000 spectators or more. This year spectators will watch the event unfold online, through an amazing combination of live broadcasting, photographs, and video showcasing the history of the annual parade.

As part of the planning for the event, residents throughout Danville volunteered their photos and videos, sharing their experiences. Additionally, in the days leading up to the parade, neighborhoods are encouraged to decorate their homes and sidewalks in all their patriotic finery. Afterwards take a photo and post to social media with the hashtag #4thgonevirtual. Your photo could be used or the parade MCs might send a camera out to do a live broadcast from your location.

The parade continues to accept sponsorships from those looking to support the event.  Sponsorships allow the Kiwanis club to donate to dozens of local non-profits.

For more information on how to participate as a sponsor or decorate your home, go to www.srvkiwanis/parade.
