Closing Reception for Art of the African Diaspora
Collaboration with Richmond Art Center Ends on Feb 27
Members of the community are invited to come to the final days of the latest exhibit at the Village Theatre Art Gallery, Art of the African Diaspora. The exhibit is part of a partnership with the Richmond Art Center as a satellite exhibition space for their 24th annual presentation, originally titled The Art of Living Black. It features pieces from several Bay Area artists, of African descent.
This event is organized by The Art of Living Black Steering Committee in partnership with the Richmond Art Center. The Steering Committee is a dedicated group of established Bay Area artists touched by the vision of founders Jan Hart-Schuyers and Rae Louise Hayward. The group’s mission is to preserve and expand the vision of their beloved founders by supporting emerging, mid-career and established artists of African descent.
The exhibit at the Village Theatre Art Gallery opened on January 16, 2020. A Closing Reception is scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be served, and as always, this event is free and open to the public.
