[ARCHIVED] Diablo Road Closed Due to Large Tree Branch Collapse

TRAFFIC ALERT

Due to the collapse of a major branch of the Old Oak Tree and the instability of the tree due to the high wind event, Diablo Road is closed between W. El Pintado and the I-680 Freeway.  Traffic exiting from southbound I-680 will not be able to turn right onto Diablo Rd.

Motorists are encouraged to use El Cerro Blvd or Sycamore Valley Road as alternates.

At this time, no ETA for the reopening of Diablo Rd is available. An arborist has been brought out to determine the stability of the tree, and what further actions may need to be taken. A tree service is on site and working to remove limbs that may be considered at risk.

The Town of Danville regrets any inconvenience this may cause.

For further information, contact Lt. Doug Muse at (925_ 314-3700.
