Town Recruiting for Board and Commission

Arts Advisory Board and Heritage Resource Commission openings

Civic-minded residents of Danville are encouraged to apply to fill one of five seats available on commissions. City Clerk Marie Sunseri said there are positions available on both the Arts Advisory Board and the Heritage Resource Commission. 

Arts Advisory Board:  responsible for the promotion and support of arts within the community. Will work with a liaison from the Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission. 3 positions available.
            1 Two-year term ending June 30, 2021

            2 Four-year terms ending June 20, 2023

Applications are due by 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2019.  Interviews will be held the evenings of October 15, 2019 and November 5, 2019. The Town Council will appoint the members at the November 5, 2019 Town Council meeting.

Heritage Resource Commission: responsible for establishing criteria for identifying historic sites, inventorying and protecting those sites, and developing preservation incentives for property owners.  Two positions available with both terms beginning January 1, 2020.

Four-year term (should be an architect)
1 Four-year term (should be an individual with interest in the historic and cultural traditions of the Town.)      

Applications are due by 4:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2019. Interviews will be held on December 10 in the morning and December 17 in the evening.  Members will be appointed at the December 17, 2019 Town Council meeting.
