[ARCHIVED] Traffic Advisory: Diablo Road Tree Removal Work Begins March 3

Diablo Road Traffic

The Town of Danville is set to begin preliminary work on the Diablo Road Trail Project, with tree removal scheduled to start Monday, March 3. This work is a precursor to construction on the trail project, in the effort to enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists along Diablo Road.

Construction crews will be clearing the project area along Diablo Road between Fairway Drive and Alameda Diablo. This work may cause intermittent traffic disruptions during the 1-3 week project timeframe. The project is anticipated to be complete March 7, but the work is dependent on weather.

To minimize disruptions, work will be conducted Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., aligning with local school schedules. Lighted message signs will be placed along Diablo Road starting one week prior to the start date to alert drivers of potential traffic changes. Lane closures will be minimal, with only one lane expected to be closed when necessary.

The Town of Danville appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this phase of the project. These improvements are an essential investment in the safety and connectivity of the Diablo Road corridor. We encourage residents and commuters to plan accordingly and allow extra travel time when driving through the area.
