Coordinated effort aims to educate riders and reduce e-bike-related incidents May 21
On Wednesday, May 21, police departments across the Tri-Valley region, including Danville, will be conducting a coordinated enforcement and education effort focused on electric bike safety. The initiative is designed to reinforce the importance of safe riding, raise awareness about e-bike regulations, and prevent accidents on local streets.
Electric bikes offer a convenient and eco-friendly way to travel, but with their growing popularity comes the need for increased responsibility. This joint effort will combine enforcement with rider education to help ensure that e-bike users are following the law and riding safely.
Officers will be reminding riders to:
- Follow the Rules – Know and obey e-bike laws to keep yourself and others safe.
- Ride Responsibly – Speeding, unsafe maneuvers, and failure to observe traffic laws endanger everyone on the road.
- Be Aware – Stay alert and ride defensively around pedestrians, vehicles, and other cyclists.
The safety of all road users is a top priority. This regional operation reflects the shared commitment of Tri-Valley communities to promote responsible e-bike use and create safer streets for everyone.
