Town of Danville Calls for Artists
 Submissions sought for Dogs of Danville, Unleashed Public Art Exhibition

The Town of Danville’s Village Theatre Art Gallery is seeking 15 experienced artists who wish to bring a life-sized fiberglass dog sculpture to life using the white surface as their empty canvas. 
The Town seeks to promote and celebrate the visual arts in this dog loving community and has partnered with local businesses to sponsor the dogs and show its appreciation for the arts.  For detailed information on how to apply visit  Deadline for artist submissions is February 19, 2019.
Blank dog coloring sheets are available on the Village Theatre Art Gallery’s website and in the Village Theatre Art Gallery.  The Town is seeking colorful, creative, and unique submissions for these sculptures.  Artists will be selected by a panel comprised of Arts Commissioners for the Town and members of the Village Theatre Art Gallery’s Curatorial Committee.  The selected artists will receive a $500 stipend for their time and materials. 
Dogs of Danville, Unleashed! will be on view from May 9 – September 19, 2019.  At the end of the exhibition all of the dog sculptures will be sold in a silent auction during the Closing Reception for the Artists and Sponsors at the Village Theatre & Art Gallery. Reception is scheduled for Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00.m.  Complimentary refreshments will be served.
