Businesses Sought for Scarecrow Stroll
Seeking 20 businesses to participate in fall celebration

The Town of Danville is seeking 20 Retail/Restaurant/Personal Service businesses to participate in the first ever Scarecrow Stroll this fall.

Participating businesses will receive a scarecrow kit and guidelines to construct and decorate a scarecrow to display in front of their business from October 19 to November 30, 2020. These festive figures can be decorated to look like the business owner, show off their fall spirit, or designed like a traditional scarecrow.

As part of the stroll, residents of Danville will be encouraged to discover all the creatively designed scarecrows while rediscovering and supporting local businesses. On completing the stroll, residents can share a photo of their favorite scarecrow on social media and tag the Town or visit the Danville website to vote for their favorite display.

Scarecrows will be entered into a competition for two different categories: “People’s Choice” and “Town Council” choice. Tag @livelocallydanville and @danvilleparksca on Instagram and use #ScarecrowStroll.

Interested parties should submit an application which can be found on the Find the Fun page at www.danville.ca.gov/findthefun. Businesses who apply and fit the guidelines will receive a scarecrow kit and instructions. Scarecrows will be displayed from October 19 - November 30, 2020. Voting begins October 30, 2020 and concludes on November 28, 2020. Winners will be announced on November 30, 2020 on Instagram as well as on the Find the Fun page of the Danville website at www.danville.ca.gov/findthefun.
