Semi-annual academy informs community members about police operations.
The Danville Police Department has opened applications for the spring Danville Citizens Police Academy. This community academy offers an extended look at what law enforcement is really like, led by Danville Police Department officers and staff. There are typically two academies per year, and the spring academy begins March 27.
Classes are held in-person on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. for seven consecutive weeks with two Saturday sessions. Classes may include patrol procedures, traffic enforcement, investigations, crime scene processing, driving instruction, and other topics.
Applications close March 18 for the spring session. Pre-registration is required, and residents can learn how to apply and watch a video about the Citizens Police Academy at www.danville.ca.gov/citizensacademy.
