All of Danville, All Together: @DanvilleCAgov

New Handle DanvilleCAgov300x350

Town consolidates social media accounts, creating one source for Town news.

DANVILLE, Calif. (May 12, 2023): There is now one convenient social media handle for the Town on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, making it simple to follow on your favorite platform. The Town has renamed its social media accounts to @DanvilleCAgov, to reflect the Town home page at www.danville.ca.gov. Current followers do not need to take any action to continue to receive updates. Followers of other Danville accounts for Live Locally, Danville Parks, Village Theatre, and Art Gallery will need to follow @DanvilleCAgov for updates on local businesses, activities, and arts events going forward.

“Danville is a busy town, and we wanted to make it easier for the community to find updates on social media,” said Jenn Starnes, Danville Public Information Officer. “From events to business openings to construction projects, you now only have to follow one account on your favorite platform for the latest news.”

The Town also maintains an account on Nextdoor. The Danville Police Department will maintain its Facebook account, to provide safety information and community updates. To help share information more widely, they will also be launching an Instagram account. Residents can also sign up for Nixle, a text-based platform that sends local alerts from the Danville Police Department directly to your phone or email address.

The community is invited to follow the Town @DanvilleCAgov account on all social media platforms, and visit www.danville.ca.gov/stayconnected for links. For more information, contact Jenn Starnes, Public Information Officer, at 925-314-3336 or jstarnes@danville.ca.gov.
