Murder, mystery, and DNA! In this month’s Town Talks installment, Danville Mayor Renee Morgan will be chatting with the former cold-case investigator, writer, and podcaster, Paul Holes to talk about the Golden State Killer case that Holes helped to solve using advancements in DNA profiling and genealogy technology. Town Talks with Mayor Renee Morgan will be live-streamed at 9:00 a.m. on September 3, 2021. Town Talks is a program held on the first Friday of each month via Zoom. Mayor Morgan invites guests to discuss a variety of topics of interest to Danville residents.

The Mayor’s guest on September 3, Paul Holes, was an investigator for the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office in Martinez, California. Holes’ contributions led to the arrest of the Golden State Killer, the first public arrest obtained through genetic genealogy. Recently Holes launched a true-crime podcast called The Murder Squad that explores evidence and discussions of current unsolved murders, unidentified remains, and missing persons cases. Participants can ask questions using the chat feature or email questions ahead of time to towntalks@danville.ca.gov.

Please join us for this fascinating discussion via Zoom at 9:00 a.m. on September 3, 2021.  To register for the program, go to https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_JfPOy_HlTZy672REq7mULA

Following the program, the recording will be uploaded to the Town of Danville’s YouTube channel and hosted on the town’s website www.danville.ca.gov.
