Nomination Period for November Election Begins July 13
Three Town Council seats to be decided in municipal election

At the Tuesday, November 3, 2020 Municipal Election, voters will decide three seats on the Danville Town Council. Residents interested in running for the Town Council may take out nomination papers from July 13 – August 7, 2020. In the event that an incumbent fails to file nomination papers, the filing period is extended to August 12, 2020.

To be eligible to run for Town Council, candidates must be 18 years of age or older, reside within the Town of Danville incorporated boundaries and be a registered voter at the time nomination papers are issued. Interested residents must make an appointment with the City Clerk to receive and submit campaign documents during the Nomination Period.  Due to restrictions from the Shelter in Place Order, Danville Town Offices are currently closed to the public.   Appointments must be made with the City Clerk to receive and file papers.  The papers must be completed and filed with the City Clerk before the end of the nomination period.

Election-specific documents are not available to candidates prior to July 13, 2020.  However, interested candidates are encouraged to become familiar with campaign requirements and related forms.  Information can be found on the Town website at www.danville.ca.gov/elections
