If you have ever wanted to get an extended look at what law enforcement is really like, consider attending the Danville Citizens Police Academy. There are typically two academies per year. Classes are held in-person on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for 6 consecutive weeks with two Saturday sessions. Classes may include the following topics:

Traffic Enforcement
Impaired Driving
Investigations
Crime Scene Processing
Crime Prevention
Criminal Prosecution
Driving Instruction
The Police Department holds two Citizens Academy sessions per year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. Those interested in attending the Citizens' Academy should complete and turn in the application to be added to the interest list.
