Summer Fun In Danville

Do
you remember games, crafts, field trips, BBQs and the pool days of yesteryear?
The Town of Danville is still creating these memories through its traditional
summer day camp and teen day trip programs.
The
Town has a variety of great camp experiences for preschool through middle
school-aged children. Parents can choose the camp that best fits their child by
age, length of time, or by camp theme or field trip location. Day Camps held at
Los Cerros Middle School also offer convenient options for swim lessons as well
as before- and after-camp care.
Teens
can build wonderful summer memories while at the same time enjoying the freedom to grow and become more self-sufficient through the DesTEENation Summer Camp or the Teen Day Trips program. Each week, attendees try out several new activities and go on amazing field trips, including canoeing, indoor sky diving, rock climbing, baseball games, paintball and sailing.
The
process of growing and learning new skills will serve many of our teen
residents as they go on to become volunteer Leaders in Training, or LITs, who
assist at summer camps leading games and crafts. The skills they learn as LITs
will serve them well in future jobs – possibly even as Town summer day camp
staff!
Whether
it be making a fun craft, learning to swim or indoor sky-dive, summer is a
great time to be a kid in Danville!
