Dedication of Fallen Hero Memorial to be held Saturday

 

 


Corral ImageResidents from throughout the Tri-Valley will be coming to downtown Danville this weekend to attend the dedication of the Fallen Hero Memorial at the Veterans Memorial Building, 400 Hartz Ave.  The dedication will honor Lance Cpl Joshua "Chachi" Corral, a Danville resident who was killed in action while serving in the US Marine Corps in Afghanistan.  

 

The event set for June 23, 2012 will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Veterans Building.  Danville Mayor Candace Andersen and the Danville Town Council will be present.  Mayor Andersen will be one of several speakers at the event, which will include L Cpl Corral's father Arnie Corral and brother Zack Corral. 

 

Following the dedication, a mariachi band will perform and lead those in attendance to the Danville Town Green, 420 Front Street. There they will hold a "Danville Day on the Green" in celebration of the life of Lance Cpl Corral.  The event will run from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and will feature live music, food and family activities.
