Street Smarts, the student and public traffic safety education campaign, was the topic of the January 6, 2012 Morning with the Mayor.
Morning with the Mayor is a program held the first Friday of each month at Father Nature’s Shed, 172 E. Prospect Ave. Danville Mayor Candace Andersen, along with members of Town staff, meet with residents at the restaurant to discuss Town issues and concerns.
Each month has a featured speaker, discussing a program, event or project in Danville. For January, it was Street Smarts Coordinator Corinne Ferreyra. Ferreyra will previewed the launch of the 8th Annual Street Smarts Storybook Poster Contest, which kicked off January 4, 2012. She also outlined the new teen driving safety campaign, “It Happens” and the annual middle school Safety Video contest.
Street Smarts is a partnership between the Town of Danville, City of San Ramon, Contra Costa County, San Ramon Valley Unified School District, San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs and community partners such as State Farm Insurance and Bishop Ranch Business Park.
For those unable to attend the program this month, the video of the entire program is available for viewing online.
