Kids to have a frightfully good time on Halloween

Town of Danville Offers outings for local youth

Halloween is always a time of year geared for the young and the young at heart. The Town of Danville is offering two different events over the weekend aimed at giving area children a scary-good time.

Oct. 28, 2011 is the Town’s Annual Fall Festival. Held at the Danville Community Center, 420 Front St., the festival offers games, crafts, face painting and fun for area youth. Parents can sign their youngsters up for either the 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. time slot or the 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. time slot. Fees are $5 for residents, $6 for non-residents.

Registration for both time slots remain open, but are filling up fast. Register online at or contact the Community Center at (925) 314-3400.

Then on Monday, when the kids are home from school, send them to the Oak Hill Community Center for a Kid’s Day Out. Staff from the Town’s Recreation Services Department will be on hand to lead attendees aged 3-11 through a fun-filled day of arts, crafts games and pirate-themed activities.

Children must be potty-trained to attend and should wear comfortable play clothes and closed-toed shoes. No black soled shoes allowed. Children should bring a snack, lunch and water.

Cost is $28 for residents, $33 for non-residents. Pre-registration is required. To register, go to or contact the Community Center at (925) 314-3400.
