Concrete Pour Set For Monday At Vets Hall

Some lane closures expected on Prospect Avenue, Flaggers will be on hand

An important milestone in the ongoing construction process at the Veterans Memorial Building, 400 Hartz Avenue, will be reached Monday as crews pour the slab that will serve as the foundation for the new addition to the venerable structure.

Weather permitting, Zovich and Sons will be overseeing the pouring of tons of concrete to make up the base of the new addition to be joined onto the existing building. Work will begin early in the day on February 28, with the pour starting around 7:00 a.m.  The concrete pumper truck will occupy the south lane of Prospect Avenue.  Because of the amount of concrete being pumped into the slab, the truck is expected to be at the scene until after 4:30 p.m.

A flagman will be on hand to assist motorists in getting around the equipment on Prospect Ave. Once the slab is ready, carpenters begin framing out the new rooms and community hall.
