Night Closures on I-680 Begin

Caltrans project will rejuvenate rough section of freeway

Night-time motorists may already have noticed the crews out on I-680 in the late night hours, beginning the prep work necessary to handle the reconstruction of a stretch of roadway from Rudgear Road to the north all the way to Alcosta Boulevard to the south.

In order to facilitate removal and replacement of the damaged concrete slabs, Caltrans says the contractor will be conducting lane and ramp closures along the route during the evening hours. 

Caltrans has released the following schedule for overnight work:

Work window from Alcosta Blvd. to Sycamore Valley Rd.

            Mon. – Fri.      8 p.m. to 6 a.m.*

            Sat.                8 p.m. to 9 a.m.

            Sun.               8 p.m. to 10 a.m.

 

Work window from Sycamore Valley Rd. to El Pintado Rd.

            Mon. – Fri       7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

            Sat.                7 p.m. to 9 a.m.

            Sun.               7 p.m. to 11 a.m.

 

Work window from El Pintado Rd. to Rudgear Road

            Mon. – Fri.      8 p.m. to 6 a.m.*

            Sat.                8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

            Sun.               8 p.m. to 11 a.m.*

 

*In some locations lanes will be opened earlier.

 

Caltrans warns that motorists may see some delays through the work zones and allow extra time for their commute. Drivers are also asked to use caution through the area and watch out for construction crews.
