A major roadway rehabilitation project on I-680 could be moving forward within the next six months. Caltrans has announced that they will be awarding a contract in November for the work to be done on a 12.6 mile stretch of I-680 between Livorna Road and Alcosta Boulevard. The $78 million project had been slated for earlier this year but was delayed.
Work to be done includes:
* Resurfacing of all lanes of traffic in both directions from Livorna Rd. to Alcosta Blvd.
* Extension of the southbound HOV lane from Rudgear Rd. to Livorna Rd.
* Rehabilitation work on 39 ramps along that segment of roadway.
Caltrans is expecting the contract to be awarded in November, with the project getting underway in spring 2011. Updates on the project will be posted to the Caltrans website. Click here to navigate to the I-680 project page.
