Danville International Children’s Film Festival set for another great year
The Town of Danville and the California Independent Film Festival Association are excited to present the 2010 Danville International Children’s Film Festival. In its 7th year, this Danville tradition looks to provide a unique opportunity for area residents to see films made for children and by children.
The Festival gets underway at the Village Theatre, 233 Front St., on Oct. 15 with an Opening Night Reception followed by the short film, “Lost and Found” and the feature film, “Allie’s Sleep Over Club.” Attendees will have an opportunity for a Q & A session with the filmmakers following the performance.
Then throughout the day Saturday, a number of films will be screened for participants. Some of those include:
- Santa Girl
- Les Aventures des Escargots
- Chickens of the Sea
- Ryan & Sean’s Not So Excellent Adventure
In all instances, filmmakers will be in attendance to discuss their work with the audience. In addition, a seminar will be held at noon on “How to Prepare for you Audition.” The seminar will be held Screen Actors Guild Actor Adam Reeves.
The evening’s festivities will get underway with a screening of the popular children’s film, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” Fans will get a chance to meet the film’s star, Zachary Gordon.
Local filmmakers will also get their chance to shine, as the final event will be the Street Smarts Showcase and the 2010 Danville International Children’s Film Festival Awards Ceremony.
