Hap Magee Park Committee seeks new member
Applications being accepted until Nov. 3 for 5th position on JPOC
Area residents with an interest in parks and recreation services are being urged to apply for a fifth position on the Joint Planning and Operations Committee (JPOC) for Hap Magee Ranch Park. Jointly owned by the Town of Danville and Contra Costa County Service, Hap Magee Ranch Park was developed for the benefit of the Danville and Alamo communities.
The five-member committee is comprised of two members each from the Alamo Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) and the Danville Parks and Leisure Services Commission. The fifth member is selected unanimously by the other four members for a one-year term. They may be re-appointed for successive terms.
The Committee makes recommendations regarding operations and capital improvements to the park. Meetings are held quarterly at Hap Magee Ranch Park.
Prospective members should have a demonstrated interest in parks and recreation matters. To download the application for the JPOC, click here. Deadline for applications is November 3, 2010, with interviews for the position to be held at a public meeting November 30, 2010.
