As part of the final phase of the renovation of the Clock Tower Parking Lot, the Town of Danville has completed work revitalizing the corner of Railroad Avenue and Linda Mesa Avenue with a gorgeous fountain and benches.
Unveiled September 9, the project provides pedestrians a comfortable and visually attractive spot to enjoy the downtown area. The centerpiece is a lighted fountain with an accompanying seatwall. In addition, benches inlaid with mosaic tiles based on Danville history provide a comfortable space for residents and visitors looking to take a moment to relax.
Those who stop will also be able to learn about Town events and programs through a decorative kiosk located near the corner. The kiosk will be updated periodically with information about what is happening in Danville.
The project has been in the works since May 2006, when it was recommended as part of the Clock Tower Parking Lot renovation. Construction began May 25, 2010 and was completed Sept. 8, 2010. Cost of the construction, kiosk and mosaic tile was $221,000.
