A planned project to resurface 12.6 miles of I-680 from Livorna Road to Alcosta Boulevard has been put on hold by Caltrans. The $78 million project was set to begin in spring 2010 and continue over two construction seasons.
Work to be done includes:
* Resurfacing of all lanes of traffic in both directions from Livorna Rd. to Alcosta Blvd.
* Extension of the southbound HOV lane from Rudgear Rd. to Livorna Rd.
* Rehabilitation work on 39 ramps along that segment of roadway.
Due to the state's budget impasse, Caltrans has not been given the go-ahead to award the contracts for the project. Caltrans has not said when they expect to receive a green light to continue the bid process, but any updates will be posted to the Caltrans website. Click here to navigate to the I-680 project page.
