Danville Police continue to look for the suspect involved in a Thursday home invasion and shooting that left a 52 year old resident hospitalized.
According to Police, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of El Pintado at 10:17 a.m. Thursday morning for a report of a shooting.
On arrival, officers made contact with the homeowner, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The man was conscious and breathing at the time police arrived. He was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
An extensive search of the area was conducted by Danville Police, with the assistance of officers from the San Ramon Police Department, California Highway Patrol and the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department. However, the suspect was not located.
Investigators say they believe the victim and suspect knew each other and that the shooting was not a random act of violence. The suspect has been described as a male african-american, mid 20's, 6' tall, 175 lbs, clean shaven with short hair. He was wearing a dark colored long sleeve shirt and dark colored jeans.
