An important piece of history right in downtown Danville,
the Veterans Memorial Building is a long-standing facility on Hartz Avenue that
has been serving the needs of veterans for decades. In 2012, the memorial
building reopened after a multi-million dollar renovation.
Residents are encouraged to come to the Veterans Memorial
Building and check out the Historical Military Museum. The museum houses a collection of memorabilia
provided by the area veterans groups that spans generations.
The mission of the Historical Military Museum is to honor
the service and sacrifices of our country’s veterans, promote knowledge, and
foster appreciation of our country’s history.
Volunteer docents are available Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. –
3:00 p.m. to guide visitors through the museum.
The Historical Military Museum is located inside the
