  • Planning

  • The "small-town" character of Danville is something that has evolved over time as a result of careful planing.  The Planning Division works to ensure that Danville maintains this character while balancing a spectrum of needs and legislative mandates, and in a manner that addresses the impacts of regional growth on the community.

The Planning Division processes Development Applications and enforces the Town's Zoning Ordinance.  In addition, the Planning Division prepares updates and amendments to the General Plan and other advanced planning documents.

The Planning staff also works with the Planning Commission to promote projects with strong design features that will fit into the fabric of the community, while assuring full environmental protection.  This assures that the new development complies with the General Plan, Zoning Ordinance and all applicable area plans and design guidelines.  The Planning Division also provides a responsive Code Enforcement program to assist with maintaining and promoting residents' quality of life.
