When the joyous holiday season comes to an end and the decorations and ornaments have been boxed up, the question remains: “What do I do with the tree?”
In Danville, natural Christmas trees can be dropped off at the curb on your collection day during the week of January 7 through 11, 2013.
The Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority asks that trees placed on the curb for pickup are free of decorations, clean and unflocked (not sprayed with an artificial snow or whitening substance). The tree stand should be detached from the tree.
This service, provided free of charge to ratepayers, is a convenient alternative to cutting up tree and placing it in the yard waste cart.
