The California Legislature created the Air District in 1955 as the first regional air pollution control agency in the country. The Danville Library boasts a strong collection of over 78,000 children's, teens and adult materials. Among the many resources available are 6 catalog computers and 33 public Internet terminals including an ADA computer workstation. The Danville Library is also pleased to introduce the option to print in color and new Early Literacy Computers pre-loaded with many fun and interactive activities for children ages 2 – 8 to help them develop their reading skills. Library staff regularly offers educational programs for all ages including author presentations, story times, children's performances, computer workshops, book discussion group and teen programming. The library is also proud of unique services such as Books for the Homebound, Stories-to-Go preschool program and one-on-one computer instruction. In 2006, the Danville Library celebrated its 10th anniversary at the current location as well as 100 years of library service in the Town of Danville.
The East Bay Regional Park District is a system of beautiful parklands and trails in Alameda and Contra Costa counties east of San Francisco. The system comprises 121,397 acres in 73 parks, including over 1,250 miles of trails.
In the Town of Danville, EBRPD manages the Iron Horse Regional Trail, Las Trampas Regional Wilderness and the Sycamore Valley Open Space Preserve.

The Museum at the Depot provides a unique tribute to the rich history of California's San Ramon Valley. Volunteers and donations are always welcome.
The Museum of the San Ramon Valley was founded as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 1985. The Museum is housed in the restored 1891 Southern Pacific Depot in Danville on Railroad Avenue at Prospect.
Until he came to Tao House in Danville, California, America's greatest playwright had been a wanderer. Eugene O'Neill was born in New York City on October 16, 1888, the son of James O'Neill, an actor who, like other major stars of the time, spent his life on extended tours of the country.
Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site is only accessible by National Park Service Shuttle, including Saturdays, which are self-guided. Visitors are not permitted to drive their personal/private vehicles to the site.
Advance reservations are required for guided tours. Guided tours are offered on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at either 10:00 am or 2:00 pm. Saturdays are self-guided and visitors can pick up the shuttle in downtown Danville, starting at 10:00 am. Allow 2 hours for your visit, or tour. Reservations can be made by calling 925-228-8860 x6422. Office hours are Wednesday - Sunday from 9am to 5pm.

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District provides all-risk fire, rescue and emergency medical services to the communities of Alamo, Blackhawk, the Town of Danville, Diablo, the City of San Ramon, the southern area of Morgan Territory and the Tassajara Valley, all located in Contra Costa County. The District's service area encompasses approximately 155 square miles and serves a population of 186,000.
SRVFPD operates Fire Station 31 (800 San Ramon Valley Boulevard) and Fire Station 33 (1041 Diablo Road) in Danville.
SCORE provides low-cost training, mentoring and
free in-person counseling services to small
